My
Theoretical Approach
I view my work with individuals through a
developmental perspective, as I believe that early experiences and relationships inform later experiences and relationships with others and ourselves. I also believe individuals are influenced by the environment, contexts, and settings in which they are involved which inform the ways in which individual view their experience.
I believe that individuals are the experts on their life and possess the skills and tools in resolving their struggles. Working from an attachment and systemic perspective to develop a holistic view of an individual, helping to understand themselves in the context of their struggles and their worldview, and then including solution-focused strategies, is often how I work with individuals in assisting them to reach their desired outcomes from counselling.
